The Hawks Ain't Done Yet...I'm Still Worried(Question in...)

Post#1 » by Matt34520 » Thu May 1, 2008 3:49 pm

Obviously I was extremely happy about last nights performance. Turned off the TV with a smile.:D

 :lift:

But on a more dark note... :sigh: :onfire::noway:

These Hawks are crazed, they will never give up. Its almost like they are obsessive with killing our championship hopes. They still have the belief they can win this series. If we don't win on Friday, were in trouble on Sunday. I would pick the Celtics to win on Sunday, but you never know. Game 7s suck because theres so much on the line.

My question is, do you think the Celtics would be crazy enough to not go 100% on Friday, knowing they don't have to? :pityfool:

joe johnson made the big mistake of telling the media that he doesn't think we're that good, and that they are as good as us, and that it isn't over yet. don't think that the c's won't play with a grudge and a crap load of energy to shut these kiddy brats up, once and for all.

go home joe...go home al...go home bibby. :wavefinger:

I don't get the whole "they need to respect our maturity, championship aspirations, superstardom, etc, etc". Any team in the playoffs should have one goal: winning it all. If not, then why even show up. I expect the Hawks to play like crazy and try to steal this thing.

But... I still am confident the C's take this one on Friday.
Hey you! Can we come together?

Yeah. I don't understand whats wrong with our guys talking a lot. It's been happening in every series across the board.

^^I have to say not only do I respect the Hawks more, but they have some PLAYERS...I knew Johnson was good (sadly, cos we gave up on him too early) but Smith and Horford...WOW :o

Childress is pretty nice coming off the bench and Marvin Williams and Acie Law could develop into nice players.

Thanks for the kind words. Regardless of what happens with us over the next few days, I'm definetely looking forward to next season. With the right coach and a little more depth I think we can win 45-50 games.

^^I think that's where the C's have a huge advantage over the Hawks...the bench. If Atlanta had a deeper bench and could win even 20 road games, they'd be a 45 win team easily.

I respect you for being respectful. And I respect the Hawks, but this is our time. You guys have the future to win. With Horford, Johnson, Smith...you guys have a great young team for the future. I hope we don't have to play the Hawks 1st round next year.

I hope you're wrong but I would agree with you. The best days are ahead for us. It's nice to finally be excited about something down here. I guess we'll see what happens tommorow night, I'll be there.

Ya Atlanta really could emerge next season. I still think they need to resolve 2 issues. Horford is really a 4, so may have a quandry regarding he and Smith for the future. Also they need a long term PG solution and I don't think it's AC Law.

When the C's actually pay attention to these guys,it's no contest...but we keep taking mental breaks during the games...and the Hawks pounce on those moments.

^^True. Still, you can't deny they have some nice players who would be great on the C's if we could get 'em!

Should be a good game tomorrow night...we win, but a good game! :rocking:

Hmm call me crazy but AC Law is a bright spot. I would love to have him on the team..backing up Rondo.

I think Marvin Williams has emerged nicely, too.

I don't mind Johnson and Bibby talking because they have done something in this league, namely be on quality playoff squads. But Horford needs to shut the F up. He yaps even in games where he has 4 points or his team is down 20. And while he's put up solid numbers I have yet to see him as an impactful player for ATL. As JJ/Smith/Bibby go, so goes Atlanta. Horford needs a slice of humble pie. Christian Laettner was a stud and national champion in college too- what did he do in the NBA?

I think ATL still needs to re-build. There playing inspired ball, but Bibby isn't going to do it for them. AC Law is good for them because he can defend and is fast... but they have no threats on the field besides Joe if Biby leaves and AC is the PG.

I like them using their athletisim consitently but they need another iso player. Honestly AL Jefferson would be great for them with either Smooth or Horford. Then they'd be able to run well in the half court and keep AC as a starting PG to really keep the pace up.

Horford is great but I wouldn't want to run an offense through him down low.
