Maybe. I don't think Malone should be looked down upon for not winning a championship. He was unfortunate enough to play against MJ for all those years. The NBA was extremely tough during that era.
Granted, he played with Stockton who is probably the third best PG in NBA history. I think it was easiest to see how good he was once he joined the Lakers. Once he got injured they collapsed and played terrible. Malone wasn't a long player and didn't block shots, but he was an underrated defender. He's easily the best PF offensively of all time.
Also, Garnett tends to disappear in big games during the 4th quarter. If he can have some big games at crucial times and the Celtics win a couple rings, then maybe. Until then, I think he remains number 3.
