The Celtics and Pistons are great teams. But our team can't handle playoff pressure and Detroit can.

If we couldn't beat the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta, why do you believe we'll be the Detroit Pistons in Detroit? I hope I'm wrong...i don't want to be right.

Because Ray Allen actually is contributing. If he continues to play well like he did to end this game then we will be tough to beat again. The bench wont play this bad again.

I have hope. You have no idea how much I love the Celtics, I was literally dying during this game. You shouldn't talk to a fellow Celtic die hard like that, were all on the same team...

You're angry, take the rest of the night off from the keyboard. You really don't want this thread being dug up again when we win this series.

Yeah, we lost, but Ray Allen found his stroke! The Big 3 all seem to be on track at the same time now. The bench + the Pistons playing the best game they've played all postseason was the reason we lost tonight. Unless the Pistons bring their A game and we play below average this series isn't over.

You gotta learn to deal with it when we lose. We could win the next 3 for all you know. It isn't panic time.

We also had lots of chances to tie the game in the last 6 minutes. Well, I guess sometimes you do whatever is needed but still lose.

Man, I sure hope the Celtics are ready to pack it in like the OP is. This is going to be a slugfest. We all knew it before the series. I predicted we (The Pistons) would split in Boston, you'd split in Detroit, and the Game 5 winner would go on to win it.

Have some faith, you're a great team but you're playing against another great team with experience. Every game from here on out could go either way. This is the series we've all been waiting for so sit back and enjoy the lumps you're given and the lumps you give.
At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

Go arbitrary assortment of athletes! Beat the other arbitrary assortment of athletes or my mood will suffer!

After going 0-6 on the road, you wouldn't think so. But I guess we just have to win a road game.

I'm not one to question a man's fanhood, I know that you will feel differently when you look at it when you have had time to digest the loss. This is the only loss so far in the playoffs where I'm not completely disgusted in some way. I'll sacrifice one game where the Pistons absolutely play their best and our bench plays TERRIBLE for Ray Allen to finally get his confidence back offensively.

We lost, yes, but Ray's horrible performances on the road have been a big factor in us being 0-6. If Ray did in fact regain his stroke and tonight wasn't a fluke then there is a lot to be excited for going into the weekend. If the Pistons can play with urgency and be able to win on the road, why can't we? We haven't HAD to win on the road yet. Just prepare for our first road win of the postseason and I'll see ya on Saturday.

^I was happy to see Ray get going too. You know whats funny, I'm usually the positive one on here. Its just this time hurt, because we were at home and could have won if it wern't for some mistakes down the stretch. It was great to Ray shooting good again...

As much as I wish it were the case, you can't just throw out what Boston has done this year and the talent they have just because they are on a 6 game road losing streak. They were 31-10 Even with those losses, the Celtics are 31-16 on the road this year.

Boston isn't magically going to turn into the Timberwolves upon entering the Palace. They've still got loads of talent despite a bumbling head coach on confidence questions in the clutch.
At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

lets keep in mind too that stuckey scoring 13 points in 17 minutes WONT happen again. He was out of his mind tonight and the celtics bench only scored 8 points. Neither one of those things will happen again.

Call me a homer, but I think its more likely that we win both road games than lose both. We'll probably split the next 2.

btw, I predict a split in the next two games.
You guys win game three, we win game four. Then it's a three-game series.

Return to Boston Celtics
