Serious hacking during the press/comeback
The Pistons were getting away with murder when they were pressing and when they were chipping away at the lead late; all those times we got inside and got mugged, and even on the perimeter I think there were a lot of uncalled fouls. It felt like it was Mahorn and Rodman out there in '88...other than that it seems like the refs have been decent, but that was really weird.
Speaking of Mahorn, I loved it when PJ pulled the chair on that guy (it was PJ right? On Maxiell or Rasheed? I forget exactly.)
It's interesting, people don't think about the refs decision on how tightly defense can be played; that's the main way that games can be fixed IMO. Jordan made a lot more jumpers late in his career than he would have otherwise, because if a defender was anywhere close to him a foul would get called - so the defenders backed off. When the defenders back off to avoid fouls, then the game goes in favor of the offense, even without the telltale whistles and march to the line.

I'm with you on the Piston's getting away with a lot last night in the 4th, though in general I think they get away with a lot, they're a veteran team with a reputation for defense probably being the how and why. I get so pissed when I watch Rip attempt to play defense, all he does is hand check repeatedly, but everyone knows he gets away with murder on both ends of the court. Either way, we forced the issue last night and took more foul shots than the Pistons on they're home court, so I guess I can't complain about the refs too much (this time).

rip is one of the worse, i agree. i dont care if its "veteran" or "crafty"...its still a foul. when he yanked cassell by the arm on offense, then cassell gets called for the foul. when he was grabbing all over KG's arm, then rip draws the foul? & on & on & on...
& yes, det was gettin away w/murder in the 4th. especially on KG. anytime he would catch it, especially on the wing, he would get hand-checked & slapped & everything--with no call. meanwhile, we cant play that tight of defense w/o gettin called for a foul.
but other than early in the 1st, & the fourth quarter, i thought the officiating wasnt TOO bad. but they still need to fix it or the NBA is gonna be in serious trouble soon.

No...because a foul is a foul.....if we were not up by as much as we were guess what......we would have lost....then boo hoo we can't win on the road...teams can't win cause some home teams like the Pistons getaway with **** like they did last night. The C's happen to still hit the shots. The grabbing the obvious holding on to KG arms hitting and stuff has got to be called, I don't care what time it happens......
and btw.....you STFU.......

No kidding. Hamilton looks like John Stockton out there. Without his 'reputation', he would have fouled out in the first 5 minutes. He holds on both the offensive and defensive end. Then the HANDCHECKING, OMG! Also the flopping.
Dick Bavetta and his 77 year old eyes need to be out of the league. KG's 1st 'foul' was setting a pick, and the 2cd one was when Hamilton pulled his arm and flopped! RIGHT in front of Dicky. If he can't see THAT he should be gone!
Potentially one of the biggest calls of the game. we were up 15-4, KG gets his 'foul', and bam, it's 15-15. Thank God our bench came thru. I want to see the players determine the outcome of these games, NOT the officials.
We should have had an even bigger point differential than the final score. There were countless rebounds and 2cd chance opportunities for Detroit in the last 7 minutes and 1st 5 minutes in the 2cd quarter because KG was sitting on the bench. And this doesn't even count the shots he could have altered just by his sheer presence on the court.
Let's get greedy. Take game 4!
LET'S GO CELTICS!!!!!!!

That is Detroit's MO-----do anything to win--even cheat----cause it ain't cheating if you don't get caught....NOW, they're desperate to get a win,so Game 4 will be MORE and MORE of the same--I hope we get some good refs---pfffffft.
Funny thing---if only the Celtics didn't play so honest, they'd win a TON more games... guys like Richard Hamilton,Chauncey Billups and Reggie Miller(biggest cheater of all time) get respect from the officials---what a joke...Ray Allen and KG play honest ball and get screwed.

Dude shut up, your cocky, your a noob, you don't know what your saying, it's not cheating because you've earned the right to get a fouled call, thats how the game it is and it'll never change unless computers become reffs. The fact of the matter is, KG, PP, and Ray Allen all get veteran calls so STFU.

The refs were pretty good for the most part for the first 3 quarters. But they missed some obvious plays, especially when Ray Allen was tripped trying to get back on defense. Ray was also fouled a few times going to the basket, and nothing was called.
Then the fourth quarter started and the refs blew a lot of calls try to **** us. Thank God we had a 24 point lead at one point because the refs tried to get the Pistons back into the game.
The 24 point lead was too much even for the refs to overcome.

The Celtics handled buisness the way you are supposed to. They basically overcame the Pistons and the referees. That 2nd foul on KG was awful and the referees were officiating to the score in the 4th quarter. At one point in the game Rip Hamilton kept chopping away at the arms of Cassell until he drew blood. Of course there was no foul called. But the next trip down the court the referee sees Cassell bleeding and stops the game. I was waiting for Doc or Cassell to ask the referee. How do you think I got this huge scratch on my arm? Do you think maybe Rip did it last possession. Oh you see the blood now. But you did not see him hacking away at me to draw that blood.
