The rebounding worries about Lopez are misplaced. He was the best rebounder on the best rebounding team in college basketball so he didn't get to pad his rebounding stats because his teammates could actually get the ball themselves.

6 Stanford players were in double figures for rebounding percentage as opposed to 2 Kansas State players and 3 UCLA players for the leaders in Beasley and Love.

I think DJ Augustin has top ten talent, but top 5 is a stretch. Top 3 is mental.

I admire the author's balls though. I'm a big aficionado of balls.

..Anyway, the highest I can see DJ at is 8, nothing less.

Beasley, Rose, OJ, Lopez, Bayless, Gallinari, Love are all better imo.

We have a poor man version of Augustin in Bassy. We know small pg's get hurt and harm the defense of a team. They make good change of pace 6th man guards, but not starters.

Mayo-mayo-Mayo or lopez. End of story.

Mayo's got the best skill-set to be picked 3rd overall regardless of height with his defense combined with his offensive-attacking mentality, but what if he measures in at 6'4'' and not 6'5'' at the combine.

being 6'4 or 6'5 is not going to determine what type of career Mayo has.

and Deandre Jordan is much closer to Andrew Bynum in terms of athletic ability. HE IS NOT DWIGHT HOWARD.

yea, 6'4 at least is no big deal for me with Mayo. His game is used with screens, jump shot, high BBIQ and athletic ability. He will be fine.

Jordan's concern for me is not his athletic ability, I just do not see the desire to be great. I would take him top 12 but not top 5

Ahem, Chris Paul?

I've knocked Mayo a lot recently but at the end of the day, I think he is the right pick. I've only been defending Lopez because I feel like we should keep an open mind and give every prospect a fair chance before anointing someone the #3 pick.

Chris Paul does not get as hurt on defense because he has a great defensive big behind him, thus he gets the green light to gamble for steals. Also, Chris Paul is an exception.

I don't know, from these YouTube clips he looks closer to Dwight Howard as far run-jump ability.

No doubt, he's a terrible basketball player and I wouldn't take him top 5 but if the Wolves did take him, it wouldn't take long for me to talk myself into it.

Either Bynum-esque or Howard-esque is athletic enough . The key is being able to do something with that athleticism.

The difference is Howard-esque athleticism should be good enough dominate without much else in the way of skill where Bynum-esque athleticism wouldn't be. Of course Jordan didn't even dominate in college, not even close. I don't know to make of him.
