This feels great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought I would see them make the Finals before the KG trade, Im still in shock!!!!
Ive heard stories about the glory days but have only been able to watch the likes of Greg Minor/Dino Radja/Travis Knight/Jiri Welsch/Marcus Banks/Acie Earl/Sherman Douglas and the list goes on forever
Im soooooo excited for thursday and im still in disbelief last year at this time we were all at an all time low missing out on Oden/Durant now WERE IN THE FINALS!!!!
Thank you Danny!
Thank you Doc!
Thank you Paul/KG/Celtics
BEAT LA!!!!

born october 86 here, so ive only been alive for one.
so, no i have not.
and really, anyone who has yet to see a celtics finals appearance, but have been a fan through the bad years and know the history, being against the lakers is the absolute best scenario for it to happen under.
really, the only thing that makes this from being absolutey 100% great is that kobe and phill have already lost a championship so we missed that boat of being the first to beat them.
still isnt going to distract me from enjoying a LA/Bos finals.

Born in '79, I presumably became a Celtics fan out of being contrary during the NBA finals in 84,85 when my Dad rooted for the Lakers (I have since converted him!) The Cavaliers apparently weren't much of a competitor for my interest back then.
I don't really remember much from those years. I remember the '86 finals being past my bedtime, and giving my parents directions to tape the game, and to keep the tape if the Celtics won. I've replayed the tape of game 6 many times and treasure that, but don't remember much about the original moment. (That tape has a snippet of game 5's opening before it too...sounds like I gave the same instructions that day too.)
I don't remember a thing about 86-87; then I remember the '88 series with Atlanta and reporting the outcomes each year in 3rd grade show and tell/morning news - then having to go to a picnic and miss game 7 and coming back to watch the tape.
Then I remember being devastated in the ECF, hating the refs, hating the Pistons more than anything in the world, and being overjoyed when the Lakers beat them - I considered the Lakers my 2nd favorite team back then actually.
Little did I know things would continue to go downhill; how did that bone spur surgery turn into missing nearly the whole year? Why did Bird play in 6 games at the beginning of the year?
