Like I said on the Raptor board, my Greek news just reported that it's either 4.5 Euro per year for 3-4 years or 3 years for 21 million EURO with signing bonus.
OLY is also looking at Azubuike.

5.3 million euros net per year for 3 years plus 1 million euros net signing bonus. That was what Olympiacos themselfves gave as official announcement.

16.9 million euros times 1.56 for exchange rate = $26 million US net

So the actual number is between the $24-$30, it's actually $26 million because the $24 million did not include that he was getting a bonus to sign.

That's insane money for Europe. That's freaking NET salary, that's like a max NBA contract.

Yes, absolutely. Anthony Parker was pretty much The Man on Maccabi for a decade, while winning domestic and Superleague titles like they were freaking door-prizes at a big sale. He was arguably the best player in Europe for several years, that's half of why he even came back to the NBA, why Colangelo was interested in him. Parker was awesome for Maccabi.

so 26 mil dollars a year for 3 years? or 26 million euro?

if it's euro that's what essentially 39 mil for 3 years? A little over half a max contract.

NBA teams have made mistakes like this before, see : Wally,Szerbieck

I may have come close to spelling his name. So it shouldn't be that big of a mistake if he plays in europe.

Because of that it is said Parker would get $30 million NET if Panathinaikos can get Scola.

You're the one that looks foolish. Just because a few teams insanely overpay for average talent just means that the league will be in a bad situation down the line. By paying average players superstar money they are now putting themselves in a terrible situation when it comes to actually trying to keep a real european star around or bring one over from the states. Star players want to be payed like star players and when average players like Parker and possibly Scola are getting that type of money then real star players will want double that.

I'd go to Europe too if I were known as "Candace Parker's older brother" and was still playing in the NBA. That's gotta be pretty rough.

Man now I know why Zoran Planninic wanted to go back to Europe so badly... Hopefully a euroleague team doesn't offer to buy out Trenton Hassell's contract and try to convince him to play over there, I mean what the hell would the nets do without The Harasser?

Like i said , panathinaikos wasn't really interested for Parker , today the signed Drew Nicholas from Efes Pilsen.

btw , the offer from Olympiakos is 24.000.000 dollars, not euros.

How exactly do they think they will sign a player, WITH NO BUYOUT, AND NO PERMISSION from the Raptors.

They don't, they are trying to negotiate a deal, from what I've read and heard. Parker's own comment suggests that all sides know what is required for such a deal to go through.

Was there any indication beforehand that he was unhappy?

Parker can take a 0$ buyout from the raptors anytime...
NBA Players don't have to pay buyouts to the team if they want to terminate their contract. I
t's the teams pay their buyouts :)

In Europe players can not leave from their contract, they have to pay compensation for the team.
