The Assistant GM seems really high on Jason Thompson. He went and checked him out two more times recently.
Chad Ford may be with espn, but as an expert he sucks.

where did this info come from? I will have to inquire about this, which workouts were they?

Not sure, but he may be referring to this article:

Let’s check the secretive Twardzik’s itinerary for clues: He twice saw Rider forward Jason Thompson.

I dont want Lee. I would prefer a big IF we dont trade for a 2nd rounder. I think we should go Batum or CDR. Give us some size at the 2. Or get a big then trade for Weaver in the 2nd so we can use JJ

And thief i like Mayo too...

I found this when I googled Magic and I think it's in an O.S. article near the bottom. I keep on forgetting how to spell the assistant GM's name oops. The article didn't mention where the workouts were just that they were recent and that he really did seem to like Thompson. Isn't he in charge of scouting out draft picks and then passing that information to Otis?

It was two days ago since yesterday I was with doctors most of the day checking out my shoulder. Dr is going to be pissed that I am on the computer rotator cuff problem right now rehab is all I need they hope (and I hope so too).

book it...

I agree that it will end up that way for both teams, but they will pick for each other. Beasley will go two and Mayo three, and Minny will throw in McCants for a swap later in the draft ala Penny and Weber. Plus Miami will shed a little more salary this way with Mayo picked at three. Book that! :D

If its a guard or a PF or both, i dont care, as long as its a legit role player that will be a positive part of this team for years I am happy.

and right before they breakout as an all-star/superstar they demand a trade or opt out for free agency...

prorl, I agree. I think that is all anyone can ask for, given the draft history of this team.

Ok I found it here is the information that I read:
Thompson is the little-school (Rider) forward who is causing a stir in workouts, and Twardzik has scouted him at least twice.

According to Draftexpress the Houston rumors are bunk...

-Rumors that Houston will trade up to the 18th pick in exchange for Luther Head and the #25 have been called “completely false” by sources with knowledge of the situation. The Wizards like Roger Mason much more than Luther Head and don’t consider him any kind of upgrade to what they have already.

Makes sense, I think they re-signed Roger Mason last offseason...
Also mentions that if Lee is gone by the time the Rox, pick they want out of the 1st round...

ok, scouted, but not actually gone to private workouts this week and watched, because Dave has been in LA, NV and NY over the last few days and he was in Memphis with Otis last week and then he went to talk with Tomic in whatever country he was in, so I couldnt see how he had time to go watch Jason twice more...

yea Thompson is a solid prospect, I like him a lot..so does the team from what I gather...

Magic promise to pick Lee (Denton blog).

Orlando assistant general manager Dave Twardzik contacted Lee's representatives Wednesday night and informed them that he was the team's choice if still available at No. 22. The only factors that could change that would be if Stanford center Robin Lopez or Florida's Marreese Speights were still available -- something that is highly unlikely.

I'm breathing a sigh of relief. I know that anything outside of the top 5 picks is usually hit and miss, but I really feel that Orlando can do something special for their roster in this draft. If Lee turns out to be one of those small school guys who can translate it to the next level, they could pick a gem. And if they can get Richard Hendrix or Joey Dorsey in the second round, I would be ecstatic, at least as far as draft night itself went.

very excellent...kind of questioning the Speights thing though, I heard that he kind of blew it with Otis yesterday on a conference call...

Well I was right about one thing the Magic like Lee because he is like Dooling can play both 1,2.
But I have to wonder about the big man thing since the Magic are all over Thompson.
