I really can't stand Turiaf. He celebrates far too much for a very average player. Also, he is about as dirty as they come.

No way Turiaf is a dirty player!
I hate to see him go, he's just a great guy to come off the bench. I am sure he prefers to stay as a Laker. However, Mitch couldn't make a better offer because we are way over the salary cap. I hope he does well in Golden State. Don't blame him either.

I love Ronny and so will GS fans. He's just too expensive for the Lakers for only 15mpg. He can hit the outside jumper and play some tough D (though foul prone). Poor rebounder for his size though. Lakers will pass as 8 million is too much for Ronny (tax included).

LOL at these noobs using Kobe's greatness to get paid. Its like Pat Garrity getting paid from the Magic b/c McGrady set him up for thousands of open jumpers.

What the heck is Mullin and the Warriors org doing over there?!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:   :noway:

17 mill! for Turiaf?

The Lakers are stupid if they match that offer. Can't seeing them doing it, since they haven't even resigned sasha yet. Looks like the Warriors just bought a 7 foot towel waving cheerleader for 17 mill.

Mullin would get screwed if he didn't get somebody. I guess he felt he had to overpay.
Can the Lakers replace him at that price?

this is tough..Lakers wont match it..hate to see Ronny go though...He can hit that outside J and his Blocks can mos def swing the momentum of a game..his passion and energy is unmatched by anyone else on the Lakers..and the Lakers also lose depth upfront...Pau/Bynum/Mihm??/Mbenga??..thats it..we better have a backup plan..kurt Thomas or somethin

The headline should read:

"Warriors waste more money, give Turiaf $17 million, offseason from hell continues"

I think 4y/17m is about what Turiaf is worth to a contending team, a team that needs a backup energy big man that might be able to put them over the top. The Warriors are not that.

Mullin obviously graduated from the Otis Smith General Manager Institute of Business...even though if the new numbers I heard on Maggette's deal are accurate, that's a steal really, not the MLE, but not far from it, as for Turiaf, meh, classic scenario when trying to steal a restricted player from a team that wants them back...

Close, you're forgetting that they both actually studied at the feet of Gary St. Jean.

Yeah, this deal doesn't bother me much, it's a little high but if they really want him they need to be sure LA won't match. The Maggette deal on the other hand? :banghead:

That's not a lot of money and the Lakers might even match. The Maggette isn't that terrible either.

I agree with this, too. Not sure where everyone else is coming from. If this is too much for Turiaf then its just par for the course as it seems all big men get overpaid.

This coupled with the Maggette signing doesn't make much sense at all for GS....why not save your money and go after the young guys, even if they're RFAs? Deng, Iguodala, SMITH, Okafor, etc....at least then they'd have the potential to land a significant player.
