Manny opened to be traded

Post#1 » by A.J. » Sun Jul 27, 2008 11:16 pm

I was watching Baseball Tonight when they mentioned it.

What teams should go after him?

I think it's going to be yet another trading deadline that ends up with Manny Ramirez on the Boston Red Sox.

I think this is his last season in Boston. If I were Theo I would keep him and just get the draft picks,.

If they end up trading Manny for fifty cents on the dollar it'll make my decade. Unfortunately, I don't think Epstein's that stupid.

I think he is gone. I don't want him gone. I want the distractions to stop, but you can't have both.

Philly wants him. And unless I am mistaken philly has their own star issues with Rollins...

Manny

For

Jimmy Rollins.

Thoughts? Sox might need to throw in some one, because I think rollins just signed a new deal.

As far as the mets go. Do they even have anyone to trade anymore? Their two big pieces that were rumored once before for in manny deals, Kazmir, and Millegde are gone.

Manny stays in Boston.

Drama queen.

Now he probably goes on a tear.

He's been on a tear for a couple weeks now. I don't see how or why they'd trade him at this point unless someone wants to give away a young cost-controlled player. And the only GM stupid enough to try is probably Ed Wade. I can't imagine they'd trade him to some team who actually has a shot at competing, and why would any other team want him?

I also see absolutely no reason to pick up his option for next year.

Manny opened to be traded?

Something isn't right there.

The Phillies want to deal Rollins? They'd probably just wait til the offseason & get into a bidding war with the Mets over ManRam.

I would personally punch Theo Epstein in the head if he ever did this deal.

Now, Manny for Rollins, Burrell and…Christ, do the Phillies have any good prospects left?

Probably a little of both.

this guy is about as untouchable as they get right now, but if they could deal Manny with half his remaining salary paid, Masterson or Bowden and whatever other reasonable pieces they want to Floridfa for Hanley Ramirez id be a happy man.
put Coco in left and use Moss as your 4th outfielder. then you still have the option in FA of getting Teixera for 1st and moving Youkilis to left. ahh, pipedreams are fun

too bad rollins isn't half the player manny is.

If both are forced to be a DH then yeah. Both are overrated, but Rollins is good defensive SS and Manny is the worst fielder in the game. Negating a lot of his value. Rollins is also signed to a very team friendly deal and Manny is one of the most overpayed players in the game.

Put down the pipe. Burrell has more trade value then Manny by himself. As does Rollins. And you want a good prospect. How high are you? An article by MGL two years ago talking about Manny's worth, and Manny has only gotten worse since.

An NL team would be stupid to trade for Manny as he should be a DH. Philly would have to be incredibly stupid to do a deal for Manny considering they already have 2 huge defensive liabilities themselves in Burrell and Howard.
