I'm pretty sure it has, in like 12 other threads.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
The Blue Jays are making a run at Jason Bay, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark.
The Pirates would likely want Travis Snider or a package including Adam Lind and Brett Cecil in return for Bay. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is hearing that the Rays are now out of the mix for Bay.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Let's use this thread to talk about the Mariners' bat**** insane trade demands for Jarrod Washburn.
Lee Pelekoudas is apparently the Bizarro Bill Bavasi.
The Seattle Post Intelligencer reports that the Rockies were "shocked" when the Mariners asked for both Dexter Fowler and Casey Weathers in exchange for Jarrod Washburn.
No wonder the Yankees backed out of the rumored deal for Washburn. The newspaper also notes that the Mariners asked for "Jon Niese and/or Fernando Martinez or another top prospect" from the Mets, which is even more laughable.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
These GM's are so damn greedy.
"We want top of the line prospects for Washburn"
"...um...what?"
------
"We know we get manny, and cash to pay him, but we need to get some prospects out of this deal"
"Hell no"

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
The Blue Jays are the Astros of the AL. Just blow it up, already. And with the Rays out of the running for Bay, I would imagine Dunn would be their guy now.

It's on ESPNews. ESPN feels it's more important to show senior golf.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Argh, wtf, espn is the only news outlet not picking up the manny deal. I have read at least 5 sources say that manny knows about the deal, manny has basically agreed to it, and that it is close. While espn is saying deal is dead as a doornail.
btw, this has been a good deadline, lots of stars and hall of famers traded or rumored. But it is amazing when you compare the NHL to this. In the NHL a deal happens every 2 minutes.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates have agreed to the prospects they'd receive in a Manny Ramirez-Jason Bay-Jeremy Hermida deal.
That was supposed to be the biggest remaining hurdle. If this is correct, then talks are anything but dead.

Maybe talks aren't dead.

Yeah, the NHL is pure insanity when it comes to the trade deadline and free agency.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
bit from bradford on eei: Kemp might still be on the backburner. but sox want bay, and have been scouting him for a month or so.
interesting, I hope they go for Kemp if this bay deal is falling through. We might need to take on andruw jones contract...yuck. but for kemp, i would do it.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
The Yankees and Red Sox are both in on Scott Eyre, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark.
The Cubs are willing to move him and probably aren't asking for a lot. Still, he's not any team's preferred option for a lefty specialist. That's why he's available in the first place.
