Re: Official Week 3 Thread (Non-Primetime)
Early game thoughts:
--Houston is terrible. Andre Johnson drops 2 TDs and runs the wrong route on another where Schaub made a perfect throw and read. Their G-C-G package is simply horrible. Steve Slaton made a couple of real nice runs though. They have to be thinking about yanking Schaub for Sage after today.
--Al Haynesworth showed up big-time. The Titans did a very good job on Mario Williams, good use of the TE chip.
--heartbreaker for the Raiders, who dominated the game but lost. Real quality gumption win for Dick Jauron & Co., who had no business winning. Gibril Wilson losing his head really cost the Raiders.
--I watched the early games at a sports bar and there were two Pats fans there. Honestly I paid little attention to that game, but by about the middle of the 3rd both guys were ready to execute Jerod Mayo for being woefully out of position and fooled on every Ronnie Brown carry. I'll have to watch the tape to confirm it but one of the guys is the OL coach from the local college team so he knows his Xs and Os.
--Jake Delhomme needs to stop crying like a little b**** every time he gets touched. That Winfield sack/fumble TD was all on Jake, it wasn't like it was the blind side or anything. Learn to count dude. Spolied a real strong defensive performance by the Panthers, particularly their LBs, who did a great job containing Peterson on 1st down runs.
--Bears overaggressiveness on D killed them, going for picks and huge hits instead of the smart and sure plays. Their special teams were amazing even minus Hester

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

I don't know if you guys are paying attention to the Eagles/Steelers game, but Westbrook left the game earlier with an ankle injury.

The rams suck really bad. Almost as bad as last years fins.
The Rams and Chiefs could both be as bad as last years Dolphins. I knew the Chiefs were bad (they haven't won a game in like a year), but you don't get the full appreciation until you see them in person.

Have to be? We better bench Schaub for next week. Hell, the Vikings benched Jackson after 2 games, and gave the job to Gus, and look what Gus did today. Schaub as I said earlier is overrated, and the media over hyped him badly. We need to give Sage a chance to see what he can do.

I was looking at the falcons sched and it is brutal for them. They had the first three weeks relatively easy but its gonna be a bunch of losses for them if they don't play good now.

We swaped 1st rounders with the Falcons, and traded 2 2nd round picks for him. We really needed those 2nd rounders badly.

Did you hear the stat they mentioned a minute ago? The Steelers (at that point) tried to pass 9 times resulting in 6 sacks, an int. and 3 completions.
Edit: Although I think they were only talking about the second quarter.

Weird game in Denver.
A goal-line stand by a horrible Denver defense and than a safety by a incredibly good Denver offense.
New Orleans cuts it to 5.
It definitely looks like it'll be a shoot-out.

So what happened to Brian Westbrook?
I'm hearing ankle sprain, somewhere in that vicinity.

What happened to Marc Bulger? I used to be the one of top QBs in the NFL, now he is a mediocre one. Or are the Rams this bad?

Jim Nantz was wrong when he said that. Kold threw some passes in the Rams game in week one.
