We have played around with it before. But now it seriously time to question if this guy is the right guy to build a franchise around. This latest string of injuries pretty much suggest that he can't sustain healthy legs throughout a deep playoff run.

Really sorry for Yao. Nobody works harder...but he can't help the size he has been blessed with.

Man Yao. If he could just stay healthy!

Maybe it's time to look to the future and start making trades

I agree completely. I like Yao, but I think signing him to a huge extension purely from a basketball perspective would only result in further heartbreak. The crazy thing is that I'm extremely disappointed, but not really surprised that this happened. Sad day...

Yao is great and all but damn.. His career is pretty much over. He can never stay healthy. Tough luck, I was rooting for you guys against the Lakers..

I'm so numb to this now because it happens so much with this team. What a horrible reality it is to support a team that had everything they needed to do great things, but lacked the health to see the vision through to the end.

Yao to the Lakers in 2010. He can ride the bench till the playoffs then come in and beast.
Greatest comment I've ever received.

this sucks but i'm not suprised.. building around a injuryprone player is too much, we need to look for alternatives.

Yeah, this was just like taking a piss, just so natural. No flinching, nothing, this the third time in a row we've heard Yao "out for season," due to a fracture in his leg/knee/ankle or whaver.

Such a shame. The classiest guy in the league but no luck at all.

The Rox need to have a great backup center to limit Yaos mins. He cant play 40 mins a night and stay healthy for a whole season.

With his contract situation coming up, anyone worried about a max extension?
