Which is exactly what Swift is worth.

I really do want to know, even five years later, what is Ainge's fascination with this kid. What made him so interested in 2004 and why has it not burnt out now? I'm not doubting him, I'd just really like to know what he sees.

Anyways, if he's healthy, I'd like to see him make the roster. He could probably be productive in 10-20 minutes if he could at least get on the court. He's still pretty young too.

It's obviously the brain type Zin5. I can think of no other reason for this kid to make Ainge be enamored with him.

I wanna see a billy poster with swift gettin thrown on... Maybe gabe can get in the action and throw the ooop to billy... I bet billy avg's more blocks in the SL than this bum... Alot of people fell into the POB trap last season... Don't get fooled again!!!

Dude, POB makes Swift look like a Hall of Famer. I have no idea what Ainge saw in POB last year, I'd say he was drunk but Mormons don't drink. Swift actually has potential to be a solid bench player, if he's healthy. As for his blocks, averaging 0.7 blocks in 13 minutes isn't bad at all.

I thought part of his appeal in the first place was leaping and athleticism, and downside was that he was dumb.

He was decent before the injuries, I guess the question now is whether he can really come back or not.

This is a good kind of guy to take a flier on for the summer league.

well its the summer league... i dont see the harm

i think the only way he would be in with a chance to make the team is if we make a trade with our expirings and have a few spots left over... they wouldnt release any of our current guys for him i dont think

You guys are going WAY overboard with this fascination thing.

We signed him to our SUMMER LEAGUE TEAM.

get it? SUMMER LEAGUE TEAM.

we didn't give him the MLE. we didn't give him any kind of contract.

michael sweetney has just as much chance of making the team as Swift.

i mean, somebody's got to be on the SL roster, right? why not a former lottery pick big man who's had injury troubles?

He is tall long moves okay...(when healthy). He has some skill. Still I am hoping the institute some NFL haircut rules for this guy. He could make the team - but I doubt he sees much time in the rotation.

Ya if the Celtics sign Sheed they're likely to let Davis/Powe walk. That would leave the team pretty damn thin up front and it's tough to count on signing Oberto or someone of similar ilk to a minimum deal, which is all the team would likely be willing to spend. So they have to look at big guys who have active bodies. Sweetney and Swift, if healthy and in shape are two potential end of the bench bigs. The Celtics are going to have at least one of those type of guys on the roster.

Robert Swift is a good pickup solely on the basis of having the worst tattoos in professional sports, and maybe the entire world.

I watched Swift in his second season quite a bit and he looked very impressive in stretches. That is a long time ago but he has talent and if healthy can be a nice bench player...

Does having Swift on on the team make Scal redundant? Isn't there a league rule that says u cant have more than one fanta pants on your roster at once?

Oh please, let me make the Celtics team after this summer. I promise I won't get another tattoo for the rest of my life. And I'll cut my hair, clean my room and do my chores like I'm supposed to. I can do right, I know I can.

You have to have some 7-footer to practive with. KG and Sheed will be resting between games.
