"The cause of osteitis pubis is excessive physical strain on the pubic bone, usually caused by the increasing rigorous demands of competitive sport"

The sex possibility can be funny and all, but it looks like this one is from not having an offseason for however many years now. Sleepy's concerns about Andris playing in Latvia have manifested all too painfully for Andris. As long as he doesn't come back too early he should be fine. This season is shot as is. Let the kid rest.

But the pelvis bears all of your upper body's weight. How do you move without putting pressure on it, and how do you let an instability in the connective ligaments heal with constant pressure and movement?

It's not like you can put it in a boot.

Has there been any word on the treatment he has received?

You guys had me worried initially... went to work and got all the info I needed, he's going to be fine and this will be a non-issue by February, most likely.

Its a very odd basketball injury though. Odd and rare.

if he was struggling with it, he wouldn't be allowed to return and it would be obvious for him... from what I hear its very treatable and is often a one-time malady, especially for younger people.

Bottom line is, no more national team for AB.

Being young should definately put recovery in his favour, I'm just wondering how bad it had gotten before he stopped playing. Hopefully it was in its initial stages when they got to it because by the sounds of it, the longer you leave it, the worse it can get, kinda like the way a stress fracture works.

Any serious injury related to a players core has to be a major concern for his employers.

Yeah, I guess one lesson from the Monta Ellis panic is that these are exceptional physical specimens in their athletic prime. Their' bodies can do things that other people's can't, and they have access to the most expensive medical care in the world. If Monta can recover from columbian drug lords chainsawing his foot off, Dre can recover from improper stretching before attempting the rising-lotus-flying-monkey-shower-VII on a Latvian figureskater.

Very happy to hear it. I trust your expertise.

It was mostly the W's obfuscating the true injury that was getting me freaked out.

I said I was going to call Curry "poor man's white chocolate" until he figured out how to not play like a stupid flashy douchebag. It didn't seem to be catching on, so I was experimenting with variations. Mocha Toblerone was a way of referencing both Jason Williams and Bellineli.

It didn't take either.

I think the NBA and teams in it somewhat respect the privacy of their players when an injury like this comes out... for example, Nene and his testicular cancer was hidden for as long as possible... this just came to light a few weeks after AB was initially out.

Makes more sense to me that it was something off-court.

Kaloo wrote:ok, so I'm looking at Morrow's line. What happened.

Morrow couldn't do crap and needs to get better off the dribble and at moving without the ball. People are wise to his shooting prowess now and given his lack of footspeed and handle you just need to kinda crowd him all game and he's neutralized. I hope he can fix this. To paraphrase a great Warriors thinker: Morrow needs to get his own shots too.

Generally, inflammation in a joint is a sign that the joint is becoming unstable. The ligaments or capsule are no longer able to stabilize the joint so the area becomes inflamed to overgrow bone to stabilize it.

Going back:

brownwarriors wrote:Why tank now? We see it almost every year when we tank. We end up winning games that we need to lose. That eventually drop us to the 7-10 spot. Diogu, POB, Curry...etc.

We didn't tank those years. We just sucked. If we would've tanked we'd have gotten better than those picks. Instead we won as many games as we could with rosters that never had a chance to do anything and got stuck with the 7th-18th pick.

Visiting from Malibu.

I had an aussie roomate for two years after college. He clued me in. All your "would be hot" women drink too much beer (because they are loads of fun) so they have asses like water buffalo. His words.

Clearly, you've never been to Australia.
