Trading Zach LaVine Is Main 'Focal Point' For Bulls

Nov 29, 2023 11:03 PM

Trading Zach LaVine remains the top priority for Arturas Karnisovas, sources told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

Karnisovas is reportedly responding to inquiries for other players by saying he wants to see the Bulls roster post-LaVine trade.

Shams Charania reported earlier in the week that the Bulls would seek Austin Reaves in a potential deal with the Lakers.

Johnson adds that should the Bulls decide to rebuild through trades, Andre Drummond would also draw interest from around the league.

Bulls Would Covet Austin Reaves In Potential Zach LaVine Trade

Nov 29, 2023 8:55 AM

The Los Angeles Lakers have been mentioned as a potential trade suitor for Zach LaVine. One challenge is that the Lakers can't make any kind of deal for LaVine until closer to mid-December or mid-January, when offseason signees become trade eligible.

One of those players is Austin Reaves, who can't be traded until January 15. Per Shams Charania of FanDuelTV, the Chicago Bulls would covet Reaves in a potential LaVine deal.

Los Angeles would need to trade Chicago more than just Reaves to make the salary-matching work. However, Reaves and his team-friendly four-year, $54 million deal would be a good starting point in trade discussions between the two teams.

Heat Not Interested In Trading For Zach LaVine

Nov 24, 2023 10:54 PM

The Miami Heat have not shown interest in trading for Zach LaVine, a source tells Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

LaVine has reached the trade market with the Chicago Bulls interested in changing direction.

LaVine represents a duplication of Tyler Herro's skill set at a more expensive annual contract. The Heat are not interested in trading Herro for LaVine. If the Heat could acquire LaVine without trading Herro, it would create an incredibly expensive team where five players (LaVine, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson and Herro) would exceed the $172.6 million luxury tax line for 24-25 by nearly $3 million.

Jrue Holiday: Bucks Got What They Wanted, So I Can't Be Mad At That

Nov 22, 2023 1:57 PM

Jrue Holiday doesn't hold a grudge against the Milwaukee Bucks for trading him to the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard on the eve of the season. Holiday was eventually traded again to the Boston Celtics, who will play the Bucks for the first time this season on Wednesday.

"I think that they got what they wanted, so I can't be mad at that," said Holiday.

"A warning would've been cool. But other than that, I'm in the best place that I can be to compete against them, which is for the top team in the East and, hopefully, the top team in the league."

Holiday spent three seasons with the Bucks after coming over in a trade before the 2020-21 season from the New Orleans Pelicans.

Zach LaVine Trade Unlikely To Be Resolved Until Deadline

Nov 21, 2023 11:42 AM

Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls appear to be on the path to a separation, but a trade is unlikely to materialize in the near future.

The trade market could open up after December 15th when most players who signed contracts this past offseason become trade eligible, "a more realistic target it the Feb. 9 trade deadline," reports Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic.

LaVine's shot attempts have been down over the Bulls' past two games.

LaVine is signed through the 26-27 season and can become a free agent in 2026.

Kings Expected To Be Aggressive In Trade Talks This Season

Nov 21, 2023 9:55 AM

The Sacramento Kings aren't content with just snapping their playoff drought last season. Sacramento intends for making the postseason to be a regular thing. To make that happen, they are expected to be aggressive in trade talks this season, according to Shams Charania of FanDuel.

The Kings are expected to be involved in discussions for any star-level player that comes on the market. That could include players like Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and Zach LaVine.

Kings general manager Monte McNair has kept most of his draft picks (the Kings owe a lottery-protected pick to the Atlanta Hawks) to be ready to make a trade for a star. Sacramento also plenty of tradable salary to put into a deal for an All-Star.

In the summer of 2018, Sacramento signed LaVine to an offer sheet worth $78 million over four years. The Chicago Bulls matched that offer sheet, and then re-signed LaVine to a five-year, $215 million max contract in 2022.
