I agree. If Brewer pans out how they'd like, he probably makes Crash redundant.
I know Minnesota would like Okafor to pair with Jefferson, but we couldn't trade him until after the draft. On our end, trading away Emeka in order to get Beasley fills our need for post scoring, but then we have to find an elite post defensive big. I don't think they'd covet Richardson since they're in a youth movement, so pretty much the only player that would be worth moving is Wallace. The part I didn't mention was that since Minnesota is over the cap, salaries would have to match so we'd be taking someone like Fatoine off of their hands in the exchange...

And I still think that's a deal we should strongly consider. It gives us good depth at the positions we need it most. In the original I think it was Frye/Jack/13th for 9th/Ammo. If the filler is Harrington I'd settle for just Frye, but if it's Ammo I'd want 'em both.

Understood about Jack and Ammo, I think the basis for a fair trade is there, I'm not sure the Blazers would want Ammo.

Either one I think would work fine with POR, you can jack or Frye with the #13.

I would pick Ibaka over these guys. Except Alexander who is a SF, a position which we don't really need.Walt Cronkite wrote:I think there's no way DJ/Westbrook is there at 13, this is precisely why Portland wants to trade. Ibaka is not porbably ready to enter the league so we can let him play another year in Europe, if we need to safe a roster spot and let larry to find out what our currentp layers actually re (especially our underweight ig men projects).

Wouldn't Jack address our back up PG problem though? Then at #13 we take the best PF on the board?
sure he would... but frye and westbrook/dj beats the hell out of jack and jordan/speights/arthur, imo.
we need a starting pf now and frye would give us that. anyone we draft at pf will not be a starter next season. at pg, we can afford to have a rookie back up since we have felton. so, despite talent, frye and a rookie pg is a better fit for the team in the short term as well.
so if the deal isnt frye then id rather just stay at 9 and draft westbrook or dj and then address the pf via FA or another trade.

Re: Trade Down?
The issue is that in Jack we would get out backup pg, whereas with Frye we would get our starting pf. I would not mind if we got Frye with the 13 (BPA, say Jordan) and then go with a second round pg for a backup, like George Hill. We then have flexibility with Frye and Jordan guarding the athletic big, and Okafor and Nazr guarding the post big.
Who I woulda took:
2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: Porter Jr | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

Re: Trade Down?
As an outsider, it would seem to me with EM50 and May being somewhat unstable, EM50 does not seem to be showing much more up - side ... maybe, low post D; and May not being the picture of health. Love seems to be the logical pick to me.
I hope you take this with the respect I mean it in, not trolling .... just saying/ asking.
