Silver, Roberts Discuss One-And-Done With NCAA Commission

Nov 17, 2017 1:25 PM

Adam Silver and Michele Roberts met with the new Commission on College Basketball.

Silver and Roberts delivered the league and union perspectives on issues facing the basketball industry, including ways that changing the dynamics of the NBA draft could impact their products.

The NCAA ultimately has no formal say in rules governing the league's early-entry rules.

The commission is chaired by Condoleeza Rice.

The union has long wanted players able to enter the NBA draft out of high school, but they ceded that in the 2006 collective bargaining agreement.

Silver told ESPN's Mike & Mike last month that the one-and-done rule is "clearly not working for the college game."

Robert Sarver Denies Report Of Interest In Selling Suns

Nov 2, 2017 3:57 PM

Robert Sarver has denied a report that he might be interested in selling the Phoenix suns.

"There are already rumblings around the league that Robert Sarver, who bought the team from Jerry Colangelo for $401 million in 2004, is looking to cash out," wrote the Washington Post.

The Suns were recently given a $1.1 billion valuation by Forbes.

"There's zero accuracy to that story," Sarver said. "Zero. I have zero interest in selling."

The Suns haven't made the playoffs since 2010.

10 Percent Stake In Kings Up For Sale

Nov 1, 2017 2:00 PM

A 10 percent stake of the Sacramento Kings is being made available by one of their minority owners.

The Kings were valued at $1.1 billion in February, but the Houston Rockets have since been sold for $2.2 billion, which was 33 percent more than Forbes' estimate.

Vivek Ranadive is the team’s managing partner. The other sizable stakeholders are Qualcomm Inc. Chairman Paul Jacobs and Raj Bhathal, founder of swimwear company RAJ Swim.

The Kings have done well financially since moving into their new arena last season.
